What does the July Buck Moon mean for Us?
This month we welcome the Buck Moon on Wednesday 29 July. Its name comes from the young male deer of North America whose antlers grow rapidly at this time.  We can take this image and translate it into growth.

Astrologically, this Full Moon represents the theme of growth in platonic relationships, the bonds we create, providing companionship, empathy and potentially life-long support.

We are called to stop, pause and appreciate those who feel like home and provide stability in our lives. These are the important connections.  Therefore, at the Full Moon, the time to release what no longer serves us, this month we focus on releasing connections that no longer serve us.

What to meditate On
How can you shed the past in order to step out on your own path in some way now?

Perhaps consider the strength of connection you feel to a certain community, friends or colleagues?

Why We Do This on the Full Moon
At Oils & More, we summarise the Full Moon as a time to connect and reflect. We will not be meeting as a group this month but want to continue to harness the Full Moon’s energy.

Full Moons matters to us because they signify completion.  Occurring roughly every 29 days, the moon and the sun are directly opposite each other allowing the moon to full reflect the sun's light.

This polarity can bring a time of friction and more-intense emotional energy.  Everything is in full illumination, making this the perfect time to look honestly at the full spectrum of what is or is not working for you.

Create Your Own Lovely Full Moon Ritual
We do this and have grown to look forward to marking the moon and using it with intention.

The energy of the Full Moon can be honoured two days before, the day of, and up to two days after the actual full moon.  At this time, your psychic  abilities may be more awake - so listen closely to what you intuitively want to shed, let go of and release.

Find a quiet spot and take your Full Moon Kit with you (a candle, piece of paper and pen and your favourite essential oil of the moment),
Light your candle (we always light a candle as a means of connecting to our intentions).
In the candle light make a list of all that no longer serves you (this can be thoughts, actions, interactions).
Once you have finished your list, burn or throw away, symbolically removing the negativity from you.

Smell your oil. Feel the release and carry this feeling into the following days.  Remember that your sense of smell is a powerful short-cut to the emotional dashboard in your brain - so use it with intention.  This is where essential oils really get to show off.

Another Favourite Way to Move Energy
One other great way to move energy on the Full Moon is to have an Epsom salt bath with essential oils.

Here's our suggested recipe for this Buck Moon:
Add three drops of Lavender and three drops of Geranium to a cup of Epsom salts.
We like to add 1-2 TBSP on a skin-loving carrier oil to this and give it a good stir (trust us - your skin will glow!)

We suggest turning off the bathroom fan and maybe even the lights so you can properly relax.  This provides a quiet time to allow reflection on what you are ready to release.  Imagine what you are ready to let go of disappearing with the water as you empty your bath.  A truly cleansing experience.

We'll be thinking of you all on the Buck Moon!

Meet Jennifer Fisher

I used to struggle with finding balance amid the demands of caring for both teens and ageing parents while navigating my own health changes.  Trying to make healthy choices, I often questioned the role of external products and stress in my home and my family.

One day, I was introduced to an idea that changed everything. I discovered that I could change a few of my everyday habits for ones that used plants first and something just clicked.  Using essential oils transformed my approach to health and equipped me to help others embrace simple, sustainable lifestyle shifts.  That was more than 13 years ago and I've never looked back.

Today, I work with women — especially those in the sandwich generation, caring for teens and ageing parents — who want simple, sustainable solutions that actually fit their lives. My work goes beyond oils. It's about plant-first habits, emotional wellness, and hormone support for a more joyful, connected life.

What I Help With
You’re not unwell, but you know you could feel better.  You’re health-conscious… but still wondering:
  • “Why am I suddenly dealing with skin issues or moods I’ve never had before?
  • “Is it my lotion? My stress? Do I need HRT — or is there another way?”
  • “How do I feel like me again?"
Here’s how I can help:

  • Essential oils for women over 40:  Oils can be life-changing when you know how to use them. I take the guesswork out — pairing the right oils with your daily habits so they become second nature.
  • Plant-First Habits for Teens & Young Adults:  Let’s raise the next generation to reach for a plant first
  • Caring for Ageing Parents:  If you’re supporting someone with dementia or chronic illness, I’ve walked that road too. Oils offer connection, dignity, and comfort — not just for them, but for you. I teach ways to use aromatherapy and gentle touch to make caregiving more loving and less exhausting.
  • Moon Cycles & Emotional Balance.  Each moon phase affects your energy, mood, and clarity. I offer intuitive, moon-aligned rituals — paired with oils — to help you feel more grounded and supported throughout the month.
Why Work With Me?
Because just like you, I’ve been there.  You’re juggling family, work, caregiving — and wondering when it’s your turn to feel well again.
I won’t give you a massive to-do list. I’ll show you how to make plant-based wellness simple, personal, and doable.   I don’t just teach oils — I help you use them.
